The school newsletter has a rather obvious overuse of text; the text is presented with little creativity or thought put into its placement. This also includes the front cover, which should be used to catch attention on a regular magazine while here the page is dominated by walls of text rather than an image.
The text choice used is also rather bland and uninteresting, while the text needs to be uniform and at least semi-formal, the text chosen is very bland and uninteresting which bores the reader and makes people uninterested in continuing to read it.
A bigger problem however is the lack of a focused audience; some segments seem aimed at the pupils of the school, others at parents and governors and even more parts are aimed seemingly at children. These segments have no proper layout and all run together, which seems like the newsletter has a lack of any kind of focus for its audience rather than simply choosing one and going with that, it tries to cover all bases but results in the newsletter seeming scattered and incomplete.
Overall the newsletter has a very flawed design overall and could have benefitted for a more concrete layout rather than trying to appeal to every possible reader at once, like picking whether to make it for pupils or family before starting.
